Just One More Christmas Around the World.

My Monday posts have been about other people for nearly the whole year.  I did my first “Influencing Me” post in January this year, from there they have evolved and become my popular posts.  I don’t know if I should be upset or happy that people seem to prefer other peoples photos to mine, so I have always just gone with the flow.  If people like the posts, I’m happy to keep doing them, and they will continue in 2014.

I had thought that my Christmas posts would stop last week, but I received a couple of submissions for my Christmas Around the World posts and decided to post them here for my last Monday post for 2013.

Marsha from Marsha Lee sent me some photos from an office party she went to.  She said this about her photos “We went to an office Christmas party on Thursday night in downtown Visalia on Main Street. The street view is Main Street in downtown at our most festive, as is the picture of the kids playing Christmas carols.  The other one is from our house”.

Phillip sent me a link to his photos, and I am so embarrassed because I completely missed it last time.  So I hope you don’t mind Phillip I thought I would show them today.  His photos are from photos of Cleveland OH, USA and his blog is philipcampbellPHOTOGRAPHY.

I just discovered another one I missed.  Sorry Maggie.  Her blog is called Tide Line Still Life and she sent me one image.

sffamily2I have one final person who sent me some images, or a link to their post on Christmas photos.  I am getting so confused, I hope I didn’t post these week.  These are from Kerry at Love Those “Hands at Home”, he said his photos “show a more rustic American sort of Christmas” and they are quite different to here.

I need to thank the above people and all the people who have contributed images for these posts.  It has been great seeing Christmas all around the world and what different places do.  I have had requests to do it again next and maybe I will.  I also want to apologise to anyone who may have sent me something and it has gone missing or I missed it.

This is the last post like this and next Monday the series of Introductions and Influencing Me posts will continue.  Lots more people to find and share with you.

  1. You mustn’t have ever received my email – not that I’m complaining! lol
Looking forward to your Monday posts. :)

  2. While I have enjoyed your ‘guest’ photographs, it has been my view that you are perfectly capable of doing your own influencing of yourself and of other photographers!

    • Thank you Colonialist, it is good to know that people like what I do too, I try not to take it personally when the other posts do so much better than anything I do, haha. :)

  3. I always enjoy your posts and of course your photography. It always make me smile and I look forward to your blog throughout 2014! Thank you for checking out my blog! It means a lot!

  4. I’ve really enjoyed your Christmas postings, with your own shots as well as the ones of others. In my church, we are still in the Christmas season for another week (until next Sunday when we celebrate the visit of the Wise Men), so I like the fact that you had this posting well after Christmas. You always do such a great job of filling your postings with inspiring thoughts and beautiful images–it’s a wonderful part of my day to spend a few virtual moments with you.

    • Oh Mike, that is a wonderful thing to say, getting comments like this inspires me to keep going, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish you all the best for 2014.

    • Thank you so much kap, and Merry Christmas to you and best wishes for 2014, oh I like that, I could do with a good and strong year.

  5. Hi Leanne,
First of all wishing you a belated Christmas and a Happy New Year from the other side of the ditch. :-)
Your own work is always amazing and inspirational, plus the topics you cover with others work is also wonderful, keep it up, do not be upset by the fact that it has actually become a hit, credit goes to you to even recognise someone’s talent and post it as a weekly feature, well done, having said that, we want to see more of your work, and I think you should read this post which I put up some time ago.
    Cheerios… Have A Good One.

    • Same back, I hope you had a good Christmas and all the best in 2014.
Thank you so much, what a fantastic thing to say. I think I sometimes wonder if I do help, but so many keep saying I do, so maybe I do. I will keep doing the posts about other people, I really enjoy doing them, so I know they will continue.
      Thanks again.

      • Please do, but more of your posts would be icing on the cake… Happy New Year God Bless

      • Thank you, my posts will always be the major part of this blog and my photos, the posts I do on other people are like my break. Thank you and Happy New Year to you as well.

  6. I don’t think anyone who follows you prefers other peoples’ work to yours…Mondays are always heavy traffic days at the Corner, even if I don’t post anything…But, it’s also fun to ‘meet’ new people, too!
Happy New Year! Not sure I’ll get back tomorrow to say it again, so this one’s the Official Wish ;)

    • That is good to hear Marie, I was getting worried, no not really, I had thought the same thing as you, that maybe it had more to do with Monday than anything else.

Happy New Year to you and Angel, oh, and Niko and Cleo and well, everyone in your house. I hope you all have a great 2014. :)

  7. For me, it is a season, not a day and so I welcome more photos from around the world. (I did have to chuckle over your “I’m so confused comment” … of course it would be easy to get confused with all these links, photos, and names!)

    • Thank you LB, I agree, I think December is all about Christmas and everything around that. Oh you won’t believe how confused I was getting, I think I still may have missed someone. Oh well, I think it turned out okay in the end.

  8. … and here we are almost at the end of the year Leanne … when you look back at what you have achieved well .. you should be dancing ;-)
I’ve had my eyes opened up in many ways following your posts of your own work , others in guest posts , helpful tips and how to – s … not all yet put in to practice but I’ll surely keep at it .
Enjoy any New Year Celebrations you may be part of … no doubt you’ll bring us all some surprises 2014 :-)

    • It has been a good year for me Poppytump, I was worried about somethings, but I did have a great time, and I got to see some amazing places.
There is a lifetime to put it all into practice, I find the same things with some stuff, I still need to do some things, there is time.
Thank you again for all your support and more importantly your friendship, I came across the card you sent me with the cup and saucer yesterday. I still have to do an image with that cup, it is coming, soon.
Have a Happy New Year and best wishes for 2014. :)

    • Welcome to my blog Rita, I hope you will visit again. It was great showing photos from other parts of the world, so different to Christmas in Australia. All the best to you as well for 2014, thank you.

  9. Thanks for including my photos here, Leanne! I’m honored that a real photographer, like you, would take the time to feature the snapshots some others of us take! You have nothing to worry about re: competition from most of us! ;-)

    • No thanks needed Kerry, I am sorry I didn’t get them up sooner. In my book there is no such thing as real photographers, we are all photographers, some of us just have a little more experience. Thank you so much for sending me your images and allowing me to show them on my blog. :)

  10. I’m always upset when I post a photo I’m particularly proud of and it goes relatively unnoticed. Maybe I should send it to you to post so that someone will look at it? I enjoy your work and visit every week.

    • I think it is time and patience Emilio, visiting lots of other people and building re-pores with lots of other people, build friendships then it won’t happen. Glad you enjoy the posts and photos, thank you so much and good luck in 2104.
