Christmas Around the World and Christmas in 2 Days

This week I have received quite a few submissions for my Christmas Around the World post, and I know it is going to take me awhile to get through them all.  I hope you enjoy these snippets from lots of others.

Nia has been busy posting photos on her blog and here are the links for the posts Christmas from around the world, Santa Monica California, Leanne Cole Photography and Christmas in La Jolla.  Here are some of the photos from her blog.

CHARLIE BILLUPS has sent me a link to some a Christmas carnival held inside Navy Pier’s Grand ballroom in Chicago.

Amy from Petals Unfolding sent me a link to her images of Christmas lights from a park called Steglmeier Park, located in Cheektowaga, NY.

Jemimah, from JEMIMAH ELIZABETH PHOTOGRAPHY, sent me a link to some of the photos she has taken of decorations on a Christmas tree, I think hers.

elPadawan from the Czech Republic has sent me a few links, so I might cut and past his email here, so you can get the explanations as well, I have written about how Christmas Eve is celebrated traditionally in Czech Republic here:  I have written very recently about the lighting of the Christmas tree in our small village in Bohemia:  And last year, I also wrote a bit about a Christmas market in Germany, in Regensburg. It’s not exactly where I live, but I found some of the pictures to be nice :) and  I have selected a small number of images, but there are plenty more to see at those links.

Bangkok was the feature of the next email from Mike and his blog post Changes in latitude, changes in attitude, so I have chosen some of images.

An email from Mark that said, “I liked the contrast of the Santa Claus decoration and the rum and Coke ad in this photo” and I had to agree.  He sent one image, from his blog In The Deed.  This is the front door to a restaurant in Santa Cruz.

The front door to a restaurant in Santa Cruz, Belize, is decorated for both Christmas and the happy times of rum and Coke. Santa Cruz is about 20 miles north of Placencia, Belize.

SUKIES ORIGINAL from Australia sent me two images of her husband with this explanation, “My husband has been a drama teacher and actor for over 40 years, but a couple of gigs in a red suit two years ago were the toughest and most terrifying performances of his life…In the second shot, he was waiting, and waiting, for the fire truck to come and take him to the Primary School, and getting more stage fright the longer he waited!”  Love the story Sukie, and here are the images.

Fabio sent me one photo from New Zealand and explained the reason for sending this, “I have found it having the perfect nature colors to commemorate Christmas”.  I have to agree, we have these in Australia too, and they are perfect for Christmas.

Robert from the United States has sent more images, I like his work Christmas photos, and it is great to see how people decorate their work environment. There are photos from two posts here, and I haven’t included all the photos, so you will need to go and take a look at the others.  The posts are Luminarias and Christmas Photos.

Another Australian with some photos of how they celebrate Christmas.  M & A’s World sent me a number of links to various photos.  Family Advent Calendar Activities…Weekly Photo Challenge: Let there be light…!Decorating…, and Good Timing…  Again, I have just chosen a selection of images.

Findlater Photography sent me a link their post on 12 Days of Christmas (Images) – Day 11 “Here is a link to our latest post – the Southland, NZ Christmas Parade.”  More photos from Down Under, but New Zealand again.

I received an email from Lucid Gypsy who is in the South West of England, she has sent me a link to her blog post KILLERTON AT CHRISTMAS and some wonderful photos she has take of the National Trust Property Killerton, near Exeter.

Ray sent me a link to his blog, Storyteller, where he has several posts about Christmas.

Ingrid from Road Tripping Europe sent me another link, but this time to some photos taken in Germany, Christmas In A German Wine Cellar.

Andrew from The Changing Palette sent me a photo that is now his header photo, but I think a lovely one.

SRETAN BOŽIĆ, that is Croatian for Merry/Happy Christmas, Ina from Croatia told me this when she sent me a link to her post CROATIA: ADVENT WELCOMES CHRISTMAS where I found lots of lots of photos of Christmas there.  I have picked a selection, but I suggest you go and take a look, there are many more there.

That is all of the emails I received.  This was a long post to do, but I really hope you enjoy the photos from lots of parts around the world, and please go and take a look at their blogs.

  22. Reblogged this on Petals Unfolding and commented:
This is my way of saying thank you to Leanne for featuring some of my Christmas photographs on her supreme blog. She has become a very important role model to me, for her work, in my opinion, is better then perfect. I Love photography, and know, I have so much to learn with so much room to grow. I have learned so much from Leanne already, and plan on continuing to do so.
Bless you, Leanne, for ALL you do!

  23. Leanne, this is a lovely post. Such a great idea! It’s fun going around the world seeing some places that I’ve seen at other times of the year. How are you going to top this for New Years? 😀

    • Thank you Marsha, it proved to be a popular thing to do and it was great for me to, I got to see some great places. I have no idea, haha, I have an idea maybe for New Years, will have to wait and see.

  24. Lovely post Leanne. It’s nice to see how we all connect at Christmas time, and it’s interesting all the different ways each country decorates for the season.
