A trip the Museum
More photos and some of my ideas about taking photos at the Museum can be found by clicking here.
Also on the other blog is some views on my first week with the new blog, would be great if you actually clicked the link above and took a look.

I adore the Melbourne museum, though I do not live in Melbourne currently, it is a place that fills me with such knowledge and inspiration!
Take care,

Hi Leanne, been to your new blog which I think is lovely . I understand your frustration with the slow uptake on it, but please be patient with us, it will take us a while to get used to your new blog and it is not about you it is about us .
It just takes us time to get used to change and to go ahead and make that change. We haved loved your old blog and it is this love that makes us reluctant to change to your new one. What if it is different, how do I still get to read it? (I know you gave us instructions but I have to make the time to figure it out.) So I would not even begin to make any assessment of its success or not until at least a month if not three. So please do not be down hearted your work as a photographer, communicator and teacher is wonderful and much appreciated. Karen

Thanks you for this. I understand that. I think the blog or blogs will continue exactly as there for the foreseeable future. I won’t be getting rid of the old one. It just seems that many aren’t coming to read the posts, which is a little troubling. I will try and be patient.

Although I have changed my ‘follow’ to your new site I’ve come back here to make a comment as it’s so much easier. I think from a commercial point of view (and I have been a ‘marketing man’ for much of my working life) your husband has a point and for a ‘commercial’ site, as it is clear you intend the new site to be, you should leave such stuff out and confidently promote good photography and good tuition for sale. But I think there are a lot of your followers who, like me, follow you just because we identify with the person struggling to get into something, even if – as in my case – it’s not exactly the genre of photography which interests me (ie digital and post-processing). There are at least two other bloggers – nothing to do with photography – who I see have a similar problem as they try to turn an interest or hobby into a living. The overtly commercial things jar as we read from enthusiasm but the admissions of lack of confidence are a turn-off for someone seeking to buy.
Maybe you need two sites – one ‘commercial’ and the other ‘enthusiast’ – the enthusiast one with an alias username rather than your real name. I run two blogs – one for general interest and one for photography as I try to get back into film photography with classic cameras – and although it’s a bit of hassle it’s not a very big problem and you could post on the ‘enthusiast’ one less frequently if it became too much.

Not only a nice photo, but very witty!

I remember the days of trawling the dinosaur exhibitions in whichever country we visited – I once knew the names of them all thanks to my dinosaur obsessed son (he’s 16 now and dinosaurs are long gone)! Great photo – brought back happy memories – and I felt funny looking at the snakes, they looked extremely alive! Thanks, Cath

We were at Drumheller last year – It`s a museum there with lots of dinos, creatures, etc.
We took lots of photos. I was thinking of creating a blog focusing just on photos and photography, but now I think I have just only one life.
If the `other one` doesn`t do anything, it won`t worth the trouble. Anyway, I designed our website. Check it out if you`re interested.

I followed the link to your new web site and have a few constructive comments regarding the last section of that post and your frustration with how things are going at this point.
– As others have stated, it’s going to take time, maybe even a few years to gain a huge number of followers and make money. Just think about how many blogs and photography web sites there are on the Internet:
http://royal.pingdom.com/2013/01/16/internet-2012-in-numbers/
– As your blog/web site becomes more popular, the number of negative comments will increase exponentially (you mentioned there are more people telling you how to do my images on the new site). In the U.S. popular bloggers like Steve Huff get completely slammed with negative comments all the time. Sad fact of the Internet.
– Not sure how you feel about Flickr or youtube, but many successful photography bloggers use either or both pretty extensively (I see you’re already on Twitter and Facebook, which will increase traffic to the new web site). In the case of youtube (I don’t particularly care for youtube myself) it’s a medium that ties a voice and face to your product (you).
Not sure how important it is financially for you and your family to make money from this endeavor, but you seem to be passionate about photography, so focus on that passion and try not to worry about the money side of things. It will show in your work and you’ll be less stressed-out too.

I’m sorry that the other page isn’t doing for you what you hoped. But don’t be discouraged! You’re an amazing photographer and you stand out more than so many others! It would be such a shame to lose you as an artist! I look up to you soooo much! I talk about you to my husband, lol, I just so badly want to be where you are and I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to talk to you on here! Keep it up and don’t be let down by anyone.

Hi Leanne, I’m commenting here because I don’t have a log in to your new site, and just don’t have time at the moment to go into it. It’s good that you are doing and epxressing what you feel is right. For me, it’s just been a timing thing – changed & busier role at work, holidays and family commitments have kept me away from any blogs including my own. It’s possible especially for Australian followers, some may be experiencing one or more of the same time constrictions. I have no doubt you will persevere on your own terms and do well

Great shot. The lighting is usually horrible in places like this, yet you nailed it on this photo.
