This is the image from yesterday but in black and white. I like flowers done in black and white. I think when you take the colour out of them you concentrate more on the textures and lines.
This was the first set up I used for the sunflowers. The single one on its own, drooping down. Tired and wanting things done with. I like the imperfections and the sadness of it.
I put them up together and stood them up. They droop quite a bit more this way. I don’t know if I really like this image. There is something very staged about it, of course it is staged, but I would have liked to have made it more natural. I wish I could say I put a lot of time in it.
This same image in black and white. You can decide which one you like best.

Love the comparisons…

I think sometimes, you just have to do that for yourself, so you know what works and what doesn’t.

I get what you’re saying about flowers in B & W, but I must admit that I prefer them in colour. Love the lone sunflower!

I think some flowers are beautiful in black and white, perhaps not sunflowers, but I have done some in the past and they look stunning in black and white. I will have to keep trying for you.

Love the colour ones, they remind me of Van Gogh

Oh yes, his sunflowers, I had forgotten about them. Thanks.

I too like the color photos. Sunflowers loose something in black and white unlike the tulips you photographed which I loved in black and white.

I think perhaps one of the things we love about sunflowers is the colour. They only come in one colour, so to take the colour away seems unnatural. I promise I won’t do it again. I will admit I am waiting for them to die to see what I get then.

We are happy our warm days are almost behind us. Pretty soon it will be winter here again.
