Last night I picked up Caroline and off we went. The mission, to find some houses with Christmas lights, the more the better. Actually, there are lots of houses with lights these days, but we wanted the ones with the over the top lights, or ones that we can rely on each year.
This house always puts up lots of lights. It was hard to photograph with the trees and the light pole out the front, but it is the only house in that area that seems to do it.
This house was amazing. Not one spare spot. Everything was there. You couldn’t possibly take it all in.
Here is a close up of part of the lights. You can see how crowded it is.
I didn’t realise I had done this one as well.
This house was across the road from the other one. Looks like there is a competition between the two houses.
This house always puts on a spectacle show. You can see it from quite a distance.
This house didn’t turn out as well as I hoped, but it looks great when you drive past it. They always put on a spectacular show as well. I wish I had the energy to do it.
It is nice driving around at night and seeing the houses with the lights. I know it is more an American thing, and usually I hate it when we start adopting American traditions, it feels like we are losing our identity and what it means to be Australian, however, I don’t mind this one. It is so hard to help make it Christmas here, so the lights do a lot. Only problem is you have to go out so late at night to see them.
I want to say Thank You to Caroline for coming with me and showing me the houses.
Christmas Eve tonight, and Christmas tomorrow. Hopefully a good day for everyone.

This is in Australia? Whereabouts? I am from Sydney and live in NYC, though haven’t seen anything as crazy here. perhaps I am looking in the wrong places!

It is in Melbourne, out near Heidelberg. Perhaps, you need to visit the suburbs, you see it all in the suburbs. Merry Christmas

I hope you find lots of houses with the lights out in the “burbs”.
